LATEST THEORIES

First of all:
Several years ago, a young teenage-boy was highly expecting the new Batman movie "the dark knight". When he looked up the cast on imdb he was shocked: Harvey Dent/ Two Face written towards Aaron E. name. The plot-twist was no longer a sectret for him.
Guys, I really hope, I am wrong but considering the latest actions, theories and news, I now got my own Theorie:
PJ tricked RJ with the list of final seven. He knew Red John got his Minions and that his Chart (RJ Informations) is not very safe. His real list, he kept written in his little black book: WALTER MASHBURN is a suspect here.

WM - Fits considering RJ corporal aspects and physical discribtion. WM fits regarding his financial opportunities.
WM fits in his interests for TL
WM fits in his
capricious and
unpredictable mind and character
WM fits in his rivalry and competitive nature towards PJ concerning Lisbon's grace.
WRITTEN IN BLOOD: "HE IS MA_SHBURN"

So, I'm well aware that there are many theories and tougts.

But isn't fire red? And fire burns... I think it was Mashburn who build the bomb in PJ's house. To kill the tyger-tyger-clan and PJ.

I think even WM is not RED JOHN, he's at least an important piece of a the RJ-puzzle and will bring PJ a lot closer (helping or fighting him).

Allright my red buddies, please fasten your seatbells, because this is gonna sound very outstretched. I mean very. Normaly I only base my theories on what happens in the episodes themselves (I wrote some stuff about the two Haffner-episodes before) and I certaintly do not take anything from the internet/interviews etc. into account. But then I found some interesting facts from a historical perspective.

1) It turns out Bruno Heller's father, Lukas Heller, was a screenwriter as well, and came from Germany. He was a teenager during the War and also Jewish, so we can assume that this period affected him much.

Bruno was always inspired by his father, even intimidated because at first it seemed impossible to him to do better as a writer. One of his fathers movies was called What ever happened to baby Jane? (fun fact: baby Jane killed someone too).

2) One of Germany's most famous political writers and journalists was Raimond Pretzel. His pseudonym (to protect his family) was Sebastian Haffner. He wrote many books and articles, often about the Nazi-regime and the second World War, in his own particular style. He had to flee to the UK in the late 30ies because from Nazi-perspective he was too critical. I assume Lukas Heller knew his works.

The pseudonym comes from a contraction between Sebastian Bach and Haffner, one of Mozarts masterpieces. He was also known for his typical German blond hair and blue eyes. Later on he wrote about the Russian politics, but also Churchill & Tatcher (the Iron Lady).

I found this review after the man's death from  http://www.theguardian.com/news/1999/jan/14/guardianobituaries :

Haffner could seem intimidating, especially to Germans who were alarmed or scandalised by his ideas. His eyes had a strange, hypnotic brilliance, under the vast dome of his brow. His presence as a solo TV performer was electrifying.

But in private he could be both witty and tender, and his kindness was remarkable; few people knew, for example, that he had been something like a foster-father to the young Ulrike Meinhoff, before she turned to the urban terrorism which eventually ended in her death.

He was almost devoid of personal ambition; in any case, his views were far too original to fit into the safe categories of the Bonn republic. He was certainly touchy and easy to offend, and yet modest about his own achievement; Haffner's view was that the journalist's job was Zuspitzung - dramatising routine political events until they seized the imagination of the reader.

Sebastian Haffner died listening to Bach, after a long and depressing illness. He leaves two children, Oliver and Sarah, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

So: maybe Lukas Heller idolised Sebastian Haffner, and young Bruno had to hear about it so many times that he started fantasising about a descendant of that praised German man - one with a dark side in his heart.

This is my most speculative and least relevant theory so far, but it would give the whole Red John story kind of a historical aura :)

In no way is Brett Partridge Red John. I really cannot see how he can make others follow him. I know that RJ can play the role of anyone he wants to but Plotnick just does not have the attributes of an RJ in real life - how can he all of for sudden be irresistible if the real life actor is not. He might be a good actor but I think he was part of tyger, tyger. When Patrick met him in season 6 episode 1 he seemed very nervous. I think RJ killed him because Brett couldn't keep it together anymore. He posed a threat to the wider organisation and that's the reason he was killed.

Some more observations about Partridge's death scene...

1. The GPS trackers - People mentioned Bertram being the closest GPS. I think the main point is that Partridges phone was the only one at that address. Yes someone could have known their phone was tapped, but if we take it at face value, none of the 6 killed Partridge, and it may not have been RJ that killed him. Especially since their was not smiley face on the wall. Is RJ all of a sudden changing his signature?

2. "Maybe Brett faked his death and is RJ" -  After he "died," Lisbon stared at him for a good few seconds and even though she took her hands off him quickly, in her experience, she had to know he was dead when she finally looked away from him.

3. "She was clearly pulled from beneath, it must have been Brett." - It seems to me she was grabbed from behind. Also, as someone else noted, her looking at the open bathroom door proves someone else was in the room (the door was closed when she found Partridge).

4. I don't think RJ killed Partridge because the other person in the room was not one of the 6 suspects (though I allow the possibility someone left their phone at home...but I also can't see Gale hiding in a bathroom like that...). I also believe Kirkland is dead, though I grant some could use this as more evidence in the Bob/Mike Kirkland theories.

5. Interesting note, when Jane is calling Lisbon from his car, there are three red dots (lights?) in the window behind him. Probably nothing but really sticks out.

6. Haffner still makes the most sense since he is the only one that fits Rosalinds physical description on hair and posture. I dont rule out the others, but I think the easiest to rule out is Partridge and my next rule-out would be Bertram (since he seems to not match anything said by anyone about RJ..to me atleast).

No offense to Partridge or Mashburn fans, I know how riled up you guys get...

The person who is Red John would have been alarmed by Patrick's address. They would have known that this is where Patrick's family was killed. This person must have suspected that Patrick wanted revenge and probably planned an exit strategy - e.g. Planned the bomb or an explosion to distract and escape.

I don't like anyone on the list but if I had to pick I would pick Haffner. He is the only one who is similar to Patrick: about the same age, same height, relatively attractive (not close to Patrick's Devine level of attractiveness but more attractive than the rest) and charismatic... The perfect Red John would have been Mashburn!

I think RJ is Ray Haffner. Why? Simply cause I don't think any of the other ones fit the profile anymore.
Partridge is dead. Also, in season 1 on the fake RJ case, he seems to eager with the case and doesn't really believe PJ when he says it's a copycat. But mostly: he's dead.
Kirkland is also dead. He met PJ late in the show and shook his hand, the episode before Lorelei gets out of prison. Lorelei doesn't speak to RJ after that since she's with PJ - how would she even know they've shook hands then?
Bertram is too well-known to be able to sneak around like that. He's been on tv several times to explain cases - shouldn't Sophie Miller have recognized him when he saw her?
Stiles is too old and too sick.
Smith is too young and too fat. We've seen RJ's shadow - he is not a big man.
McCallister could be RJ. I've had a hard time choosing between him and Ray Haffner. It really could be him, but for now i believe in Ray. Why? Simply cause he tells PJ in episode 06x06 "I'm not Red John". Why would he deny it, if he soon's about to reveal himself (as we know he will in the upcoming episodes)? Makes no sence.

That's why i believe Ray Haffner is RJ!

I can't help but to keep going back to what Patrick said on the tv show that got red john to kill his family because he just killed his family not him something he said was right he said lives in a single story blue house with a citrus tree out front and I've watched fire and brimstone three times and keep coming back to the scene where Patrick sends a text to McAllister and he is walking out of the Napa valley blue oak substation the sign is clear in the shot so is his cop car out front that says Napa valley. If you have watched the show you know when they give these readings they are never exact but in a round about way the description is somewhat right that's what makes it seem psychic it may be nothing but who knows the diner Lisbon met gaff er in was called the reyn diner. Just seeing if anyone else has noticed stuff like this because this is the type of things that are hidden in plain sight.
