The end is near.  CBS announced "The Final Red John Episode" in the promo. Down to 7 names...

My prediction next year will be the hunt and dismantling of Red John's killer network...

Does anyone else have a gut wrenching feeling about Kirkland? 
All of a sudden, Homeland Security wants to be on the Red John Investigation. They are supposed to deal with mainly terrorists, so why the fascination with Lorelei and RJ? Kirkland wants to squeeze every bit of information from Jane that he can about his knowledge of RJ. 
Maybe this is all just circumstantial but I still have a really bad feeling about him

I definitely believe Kirkland is the prime suspect, he is suspicious and killed the associate of RJ because he was going to reveal his identity. However, it seems too easy; He is probably a high associate of RJ, there are a lot of 
scenes that I thought were very interesting:
-The scene in the car with the FBI women
- The scene where he killed the guy in the hospital
-The scene where he changes the board of Patrick in order to know where he is in the RJ case
That's not a guess,
I'm definitely sure he has the power to be RJ

Bob Kirkland:  
   
       - has been following Names investigation from day one
       - has probably shook hands before the one shown during the Volker cases
       -Miranda was killed five years ago(2007) giving enough time to change his face          "Lizard Face" and asking Lennon if he recognized him. 
       -Kirkland stole Names board through his connections with Homeland Defense.
       -Kirkland is on Janes suspect list.(Lisbon mentions to Jane: "make sure you add how creepy he is to the list." In Episode 19)

   I wasn't sure what he was at first, but now I believe he is Red John. I believe this precisely because he is not in either of the last two episodes. 

 I think things would been different had they not been renewed for another season, but Kirkland did not die nor anything happened to him and he is now integral to some closure to the story...so yes Kirkland is Red John. 

The evidence will only get stronger as time goes by...

Jane and Kirkland Coctail .  Interesting...

It's obviously kirkland... and what the hell is all this talk about jane being red john, haven't you seen the episode where they MEET so it couldn't be jane... I think it's kirkland because he always snoops around and doesn't say why he needs the information about red john and I remember when a helper of red john said "Red john is an excellent young lover" and bret stiles seems too old to be a lover of young women... and Kirkland asks the help of the FBI agent to get info on Red John.

First of all, i love The Mentalist but the idea of a serial killer with a network is completely ludacris.
Organized crime bosses and serial killers have two very different types of personality ...
I think that the theory of jane being red john is funny but impossible for many reasons described before, mainly because most of the people in red john's network that met jane didn't face him as if he was red john, specially rosalin harker, timothy carter and lorelai martins.
I believe that red john could be one of three persons ... Brett styles (even though i think he is too old for the character), brett partridge (in this case i think he might be too young) ... And kirkland ...
Kirkland is old enough, has power, means, money, connections ... He killed a guy who could identify red john on 5x18 ... He seems very aware of everything and seems to know jane pretty well but jane doesn't know him at all ... Besides ... the theory that he couldn't be red john because of lorelai being in prison at the time he and jane shook hands, doesn't convince me, i believe that he had met and shook hands with jane before that instance ...
Other theory is that Kirkland is another of red john's friends ... And in that case Ray haffner seems a good suspect ... He might have been in the  visualize farm when the red john face was painted ...
He is a member of visualize, and that gives him some kind of power and connections ... besides ... styles might be another of his friends ...
