THE THEORIES

So here's one for you Brett Partridge fans - have you considered BP is working WITH Patrick Jane to draw Red John out?

RED JOHN, "If there's one thing I can't tolerate, it's cheap imitations of my work."

Partridge and his buddy fake his death. That would explain why the smiley was done differently on Lisbon's face. So RJ would get mad. Then partridge could help Jane stage the deaths of everyone on the list. Lisbon is a terrible liar so she can't be in on it. Cho probably knows the plan. He's the only one who can keep a secret.

Since Haffner showed up at the hospital the next day, it seems like he's RJ, but he wasn't around in the beginning. So I'd rather it be Michael Kirkland.

Bruno Heller said the first episode contained a very important clue.
Just a thought; what if the clue is Patridge's death and that patridge somehow discovered something about Red John and the whole tyger tyger thing?
Any thoughts?

Are you all out of your minds? Yes BP was to be RJ, then at some point Heller changed him because it became too obvious. Heller said he was really DEAD, Cho checked up on him he was in that box (for the past 6 episodes), I got pissed too when they changed him but just open your eyes and move on people it's not BP!

Now in that encounter between Jane and Kirkland, why the hell would they mention his brother is a TWIN? I doubt it's just for show, he could have said my brother vanished I'm looking for him I think RJ killed him, why TWIN?
There might be some discrepancies here and there to contest the fact that one of the Kirkland brothers is RJ but too many things fit in place for me, I'm 100% positive it's him.

I guess it is Partridge.

A Clue (teasers) from a journo who has watched the episode. Amongst others this one:

'Hi'

Back to the scene I guess where Brett's crime scene photographer said, 'I've always wanted to work one of the famous killers'

Partridge under his breath, "Hi".

I can live with Partridge. Should it be he of course.

If Partridge is not dead, then two (three including Jane) main characters of The Mentalist would completely suck at their job. Kimball Cho stood in front of Partridge´s dead body, even took a picture of his shoulder. Teresa Lisbon was next to Partridge whe he passed away. She could not tell the wounds were real? Partridge´s blood was all over her face. (Patrick Jane was too at the crime scene. So he was fooled too?)

Thinking about this scene, Van Pelt bugged all their phones. Lisbon checked on the tablet screen that Partridge was the only suspect there. Who else is on the list? Whose phone is not bugged? Michael Kirkland´s! =)

Since all the Partridge speculation has started up again - and getting stronger, I decided to go and take a look at the 1st Jane/Partridge scene once again. Series 1 - The Pilot episode.

We all know how the episode turned out. In order for this theory to 'work', Linus Wagner has to have played a role/been involved with RJ somehow (which wouldn't be out of order, considering Wagner was seen wearing the RJ 'suit' before anyone had a description of what it was RJ's wears until quite some time after the Pilot episode - maybe RJ was a Wagner patient and friend - mentor/son etc. ) But something caught my eye big time.

Patrick makes a huge show of stating that the smiley face is on the wrong wall, because it's not the 1st thing you see. Look on the wall behind the bed. A mirror - a rather large mirror. Reflecting everything that is on the opposite wall - but very carefully shot in terms of camera angles, because you don't see the 'smiley face's' reflection - but you DO see all the picture frames - so logic dictates that the 'smiley face' would also be reflected.

This negates Jane's theory (or PLANNED misdirect) that the smiley face was on the wrong wall, because it wouldn't be the first thing you see. If you walked in, that 'smiley face' would be reflecting and dominating the mirror as a reflection.

You would still see it first, before looking down. Just in it's reflected form.

Probably my imagination, and the mirror was a prop error - but then again.

It could have been Jane starting to play his game and Patridge/Wagner theirs?
