Shouldnt we send this page or Red-john.info to Jimmy Gadd on twitter ? or somehow mail/send it to Bruno Heller ? Just to make sure they see exactly how every single viewer felt about the episode.

I not only feel sorry for the fans (including myself) but i feel bad for Simon baker as well. Since the producer and writers decided to take a dump on the whole show, Simon baker will be known as the guy in that show with a crap ending. Simon Baker is an amazing actor and i will admire him nonetheless but my oh my i feel empty on the inside after watching that episode. And for crying the fu*k out loud Partridge fans.............. Partridge is DEAD. Stop posting idiotic theories that he was the guy in the red sweater. I hope Heller realizes what a great show he ruined.

*Attention* Rumours say there's an alternative version of the finale.
It's a huge flashback and it explains everything. Jane kidnapped and killed the sheriff, aka RJ (as we all know) He didn't use a pigeon and the sheriff didn't claim to be a psychic
Jane leaves his sign on a wall, and then he moves to africa.
Here's a still from the alternative episode

P.S. If you really thought there was another perfectly written Red John episode, I'm sorry to disappoint you AGAIN. Get over it, I love the show, but the mentalist finished at the end of season 5.

Simon Baker: "In the season 2 finale, when Jane was captured and Red John did that 'Tyger, Tyger' thing with the mask on? That was me. I played both characters in that scene,"

Well there you go, PJ was RJ after all. LOL

I know lots of people find it disappointing that Heller didn't know who RJ was until a year ago, but I don't. I think it was very clever on his part.

Heller left it open for half a dozen characters, including an unknown one, to be Red John. This kept everyone guessing. As long as he didn't close those characters off in some way with some piece of evidence then the game was still afoot.
If Heller had picked his Red John from the beginning, he may have inadvertently given it away.

And while McAllister was not in my top two choices as Red John, I am not disappointed it was him.
But, after watching storylines like Strawberries and Cream with very complex twists and turns and clever writing, this episode of revealing and killing Red John was exceptionally disappointing.

If Heller had put the effort into making a two parter that was as convoluted as S & C was, nobody would be walking away from this with a frown on their face. They might have preferred a different Red John, but they'd have had a wonderfully clever episode worthy of the capture of Red John. And this was not it.

It was too easy. Too simple. It was, in the end, harder to catch Craig O'laughlin than it was to catch Red John.

Shame.

ok folks, I want to say as much:  Like you all even I was a little disappointed in the ending partly because I was in denial of a few things. But having said that, I say it is still a very good show and the main point of the show is Jane's brilliant mind or skills. Maybe thats what Heller wanted to indicate in not hyping rj too much. My main rant is that PJ should have figured out RJ's identity not the other way round like they showed that RJ introduced himself and thats counterintuitive to the show's idea. But we are all humans maybe thats what it means.
