THE THEORIES

You know, I was watching season five again especially the
last episode wondering how the hell is it possible some one killing my happy
memory without me telling any breathing soul when I got to the point that that
would be me who killed the memory.

But the truth is I don’t wanna believe it and even if I want
to, logically it is impossible. Don’t wanna bore you with those details proving
why it’s impossible since we all know them to the last piece (like what kind of
a lunatic would kill his wife and child and then gets obsessed with catching
the killer) but there are things telling you Red John is Patrick. I think it’s
a strong twist putting us all in such misery and dilemma deciding which way we
want to choose and which looks more logic to choose. God I like it and can’t
wait to see who this Red-John-guy is.

Something else I wanted to share with you guys and actually
ask you is that, sometimes authors leave the endings like this one to see what
really viewers think and suspect and stuff like that and then they decide what
to do and how to end the story and in this case who suits best for being Red
John. I mean I’m not sure if Heller has decided whom to pin the being-Red-John
thing on. I mean yeah he said Jane isn’t John but seriously guys have you
thought about it? What do you think?

Is it just me or is it so obvious that it is Patrick Janes father who is Red John.

The sick thing about it is that he killed his own grandchild. Must have really hated Patrick for leaving the family business.

Think it hurts me, but according to me, and the indications found during all these seasons, lets me think that he is the suspect number 1, together with Brett Pattridge. Red John and Jane is so much alike... I am afraid I do not hide it.. I became attached to Jane, and that me Shall hamper enormously that is him.

PS : Sorry for my poor English, I'M french so.. It's difficult for me ^-^

One question when did Jane and Brett Partridge shake hands?

I have been rewatching the whole mentalist, NEVER saw they shook hands same with Reede Smith, they never shook hands aswell.

So why would Jane put them on the list if they never shook hands?

Is this list the real deal? If it is real like bruno heller says, why would Jane put them up on the list? We all know that Jane saw the video before Teresa, Maybe Jane got another list, that is he haven't show'd to anyone, and just found the pics of the 7 that red john named for him.

Bruno Heller said the list was real for sure, he might lie, or Jane might have and 2nd list for himself with maybe 2-3 diff names on so if 1 list is real, it has to be jane's becouse of the hand shakes, but owell I don't know.

What do you guys think?

The fact that Patrick Jane could be Red John just seriously ruined my day. Mostly because it makes way too much sense. I would be incredibly disappointed if PJ was RJ, so this is a defense rather than an accusation

1) Dis-Associative Disorder people have no knowledge of their counterpart. If Jane had a second personality, there would certainly be times when he returned to himself in situations or places he could not remember. Red John would have no knowledge of being Jane, and, therefore, would not have the foresight to return to where Jane had been or change back into the three part suit (if he wore something else) before the Jane persona came around. The show would have made hints to that end.

2) Red John's accomplices are not that sophisticated. In season 1, Red John's Footsteps, both Rosalind Harker and Sheriff Hardy know Red John personally. If my first point was correct, than Red John would have no way of warning them that his other personality would be coming by to investigate. Realistically, Rosalind and Hardy would be very surprised to have Patrick Jane who is also Red John on their tails (the episode also gave the impression that Red John was watching Jane and Lisbon from a separate place). I can't remember the accomplices or situations from later seasons, but I think the concept applies to the the others too.

3) How could one person save himself? In the season 2 finale, when Jane is at the mercy of RJ imitators, he is saved by Red John personally. An argument could be made for another accomplice, but I'm pretty sure that was supposed to be RJ himself.

4) I don't think Jane had the time to commit several of those murders. Split personalities or not. Perhaps they were always accomplices, but really? More accomplices? Red John is a serial killer because he likes to kill, not delegate.

I'll have to go through the previous seasons again, but this is what I've come up with so far. If anyone can explain one of those points, that would be fantastic.

Once again, you’re making moves that make me wonder if Patrick
Jane is Red John — after all, how else could he know that memory from
inside his head? But by saying Red John is definitely on the list, can we rule out the theory held by some fans that Jane is actually Red John?

Heller: I would say that definitively: Jane is not Red John.
