Hmm guys I highly doubt that that was a decoy. They were doing a good job of fooling us as it was why would they bother wasting time and resources making a whole episode. Anyway I still haven't watched it wish someone would download it so I could watch it through a different means. 
I don't get it though, was it too rushed. Had Heller not ALOT to work with.I mean all those clues that he put in and the red Herrings were just rubbish and not thought out well at all. He had no master plan I think he interview was probably because he knew he didn't have one and was pretending to have one.  

The sheriff was an excellent choice but to not follow through with everything else Makes no sense. Are they not embarrassed about it?!

I wouldn't want to be Hellers twitter account in the next coming days..eeeeek. 

1. i recently posted you my theory where i hoped that mashburn is it, but i think that the only logical option is mcallister. therefore i posted this famous youtube clip where jane sees that women feeding pigeons. that was the clue from episode 1! but the clue was not the fat patridge lady, it was in the background. if you look closely into the background behind lisbons back, you will see mcallister walking. heller said it is like looking for waldo. so you have to search and you will find him in this scene.

2. to all the ones that posted they have watched the episode and telling it is partridge, fuck you! there was one dude who acted clever and posted in comments the link of a song "on the first they of christmas, my true love gave to me..". this dude can fuck himself. 

3. if you are honest to yourself, mcallister was always one of the best choices. i agree, there are better ones like mashburn and so on. but come on be honest, form the list of 7, he and kirkland are tie for #1 red john! bertram and stiles, forget it, does not fit, smith and haffner have no charisma and no secret at all. 
but what i will never understand, why do so many think partridge would be a great choice. he is a great actor. for sure. but come on. he did not fit at all to anything described in the show. not even to short straight hair. maybe voice, but the voice was always simon baker, so screw that.

4. xander berkley is a great actor. great choice.

5. americ fuck you. spoiler.tv fuck you!!! you may have a different version, but your reactions americ were so fake, and this chick from spoiler.tv has no fucking clue. she says everything is explained beatifully. fuck nothing is explained.

6. jane is the one who knows it was mcallister all along, but he does not want to know anything about his story. red john bags him to explain, but jane does not want to know it.

7. nick nordella was just a boy on a bike, fuck that!

8. the episode was well acted, but they really blew all up by waisting too much time for stuff no one cares about.

9. cbs really put everything in the promo and in the link.

10. i really hope that they are promoting this link and want to trick us and there will be a different story, a longer one.

11. if they are not tricking us. i swear, after the episode, there will be new thoeries, like it is not over. patrick did not strangle him since it looks strange with one hand. and he knew he was being observed so mcallister is helping him and so on.
and there was a man standing at the end. he looks like partridge. he observed them. he is red john, bp for ever. and shit like this.
remember this theory since it will not stop here.

13. really nothing is explained in the episode. there are even more mysteries after this episode, like the woman with the knife that tries to kill jane. or why is rj so soft and runs away.

Okay fellas. There is still hope. Maybe the shitty episode I just watched was just a decoy; just maybe; so I'll wait till Sunday to watch the "real" one.

All the theories I read on this site make the writers look Sarah Palin.

Word of advice to Mentalistas: Please, don't over think this show. It ain't worth it. All the carefully and ingeniously worded theories y'all came up with crapped on the Red John episode I watched. At least, it wasn't Partridge.

On the bright side, I now have a life again!

I don't care weather RJ is McAllister, Partridge, Bertram or Patricks Granny. I just want to know why you would invest several years of work into a story line if you are to dumb to come up with a satisfying ending which is at least a little ending.

This episode was just... "Oh hey, it's this guy! I gotta kill him!", and thats it.
What about "He is mar"? How was an unsympathic idiot able to be as manipulative as RJ? What was the point about the fake RJ in 3x24? What is about the connection between RJ and Visualize?
AND: How was Jane able to prepare the breadcrumb-trap if he did not know that Allister was RJ? If he did know in advance, how?

This is rubbish. A huge disappointment.
