THE THEORIES

I don't know what to think but you guys should know Red john is a man 1st Reason is cause the blind women said short hair about 5Ft tall. I would say Wayne but remember when they faked his death his height was about 6'3. 2nd reason is cause he had Bosco's assaint help him she love Red john and i don't remember her being gay so yeah he's a dude. Brett stiles is also to old i would say plus i think the blind woman would have said that he was old but she didn't

I need to make a correction to my previously submitted theory #146.  I inadvertently stated that Joan and the Reverend appeared in Season 2, when they actually appeared in Season 4 Episode 1.  However, I firmly stand behind my theory.  Red John suspects, as well as victims, have been diverse and scanned the course of many years.  Who better to orchestrate such an elaborate operation than a Cult leader?  Joan and the good Reverend could very easily have manipulated the Carter's to do their will.

I think it is the red headed female friend of Mrs. Carter in Season 2 Episode 1.  She has red hair and her name is Joan.  There was just something creepy about that lady and the reverend.  They could very easily have manipulated the Carters in some sort of cult fashion.

Jane's father. I believe he is Red John. And his assistant within the CBI is Agent Ron. My theory is very simple:The smile smiling rather is based on Jane because his father felt betrayed and abandoned him when he left. How circence could kill and leave town without ever being connected to crimes. He use mind manipulation techniques would not be surprised, after seeing Jane doing this for years. Learned from it.The implicancia with Jane demonstrates personal involvement. See who abandoned the child on television causing it sparked his desire to kill. And keep pestering him every day. It is possible that he has joined the more people over the years or not. Everyone can find something great he is, when it is actually mediocre.Another clue is that Bruno Heller said that Red John has appeared in the series.Another clue is that BH said in an interview that the actor who plays him is famous worldwide. Let me explain: the actor who played the father of Jane attended the X-Files series and this series spun the world into a roaring success. And he played a serial killer in comentadissimo season. Nick Chinlund played the serial killer Donald Pfaster, killer of women. That is a killer was full of rituals that took just women.Coicidencia? Maybe. But I vote the father of Patrick Jane!

What if it's Grace's FATHER???!! I'm starting from the fact that every show has RED in the title. The only member of the team associated with Red is Van Pelt (hair). She is, however, too young to be Red John- and I think RJ is a man, so.... Van Pelt is the daughter of a football coach (from the midwest?) but what if she was adopted and never told?
Now one question flowing from this is does she know that RJ is her father? That could go either way...
If she DOES know, then she is working with him and is the mole inside CBI (shows up after Jane, in Pilot).
If she DOESN'T know, then RJ could be stalking her just as much as Jane...
Who knows!? One question to ask- what is MOST different between the case they investigate in the pilot and the one they investigate BEFORE the show has begun? (its safe to assume the Team investigated a case before the pilot episode, right?!) The introduction of Grace VanPelt to the unit. Her entrance is the start of the show.
(Either that, or Patrick Jane has an evil twin brother! ; ) )

There's no way that Jane is Red John, I respect other opinions but it's dumb to say it's him. Remember in the very first episode, we see Jane’s past in a flashback. The whole series bases on that event that happened 5 years from where we were then. We feel truly sorry for Jane, his loss and the guilt he’s living with every day, so why would Heller base his series on such a big lie? It wouldn’t make sense to reveal Jane to be Red John because that would change everything we (the viewers) believed in for the past seasons. We root for Jane to catch his nemesis and to finally get the revenge he has been looking for since the day his family was murdered.
PS: and also the RJ's letter to Jane:
"Dear mister Jane, I do not like to be slandered in the media, especially by a dirty money-grubbing fraud. If you were a real psychic, instead of a dishonest little worm, you wouldn't need to open the door to see what I've done to your lovely wife and child."
Would Jane write it to himself, stick it on the door, go out to his tv show then talk about himself (as Red John) , return to his house and read the letter he wrote himself and open the door to see what really happened to his wife and daughter ?

Well, you all are obviously quite brilliant, but I think Red John is an idea
before I start, I am going to tell you that I am an Asian, so you would expect bad grammars and vocabulary
I think Red John is an idea which delivered by the 1st killer since 1998. It's an idea for those who have unhappy childhood or abused ...it's the way to let them feel safe and protected. As soon as the 1st killer did this, he quickly stole others people's attention, then another person appears and take this " responsibility".
Just Like Batman, It's a symbol of Justice and Fear...Red John can be a symbol of Injustice. Red John can be few people which shares the same identity to kill.
(This is just my personal Opinion)
