I think its pretty obvious that Brett Partridge isnt dead....shitty writing on their part. RJ knew the phones were getting tracked and BP just so happens to be the first one they take out of the picture. He faked his death in front of lisbon, had one of his followers smear the RJ smiley face on lisbon to make it seem like it couldnt have possibly been him. And then his body was "taken".
