I have just watched last week's "Fire and Brimstone" again to be ready for tonight's episode. And I am now thinking about one thing that I haven't seen in other theories yet.
Let's assume that it was actually RJ who planted the bomb and not PJ (I don't think PJ would do such a thing). Four of the five suspects had about one day to prepare for the meeting - except Stiles who only agreed on the day of the meeting to actually join. So I guess that would be enough time to get some explosive device ready (not an expert though...).
However, they were all only told around noon (12:37pm to be exact) where the meeting was at 8pm. Without any traffic issues it takes 6 hours to drive from Sacramento to Malibu where the meeting took place. We know that Bertram was in his office in Sacramento when he got the message and the sheriff was right in front of the sheriff station in Napa. Stiles was in San Francisco and didn't even have a car yet. So the earliest they could all be at the house in Malibu would be around 7pm. My guess is that PJ was at the house around that time as well - to make sure he had enough time to get everything ready. So it would have been difficult for any of the three - Stiles, Bertram, McAllister - to plant something in the room.
What we don't know is where Haffner and Smith were when they got the text. Smith had just arrested someone, but that could have been anywhere (at least I didn't recognize the buildings). And Haffner was sitting in a cafe - again not a place I recognized, so no idea where exactly he was.
In case Haffner or Smith were already in or near LA, they are the only two who would have had enough time to actually plant something at the house.
Of course, the other possibility is that it was PJ himself or RJ brought the bomb to the meeting directly. But none of them had a bag - so not sure how that could have worked.
Would be interested to hear people's thoughts... Well, in any case we will know more after tonight's episode. I am still hoping for Haffner to be RJ - he's my favorite suspect.
