My theory of the future: I think McAllister isn't Red John. Jane will be caught and offered that he will not be judged provided that he will continue to work for law enforcement (FBI). Then Jane will have to accept the offer instead of going to prison and he will start to work again. In time he will be a part of something like Tyger Tyger. Then Red John will appear and show Jane that even Jane is under Red John's orders.
