I made this post after watching the spoof episode BUT BEFORE the real episode aired, so a lot of it could be wrong.
After we see episode 8, I hope it's quite cool to rewatch every Red John episode and see how Bruno Heller had it planned out from the very beginning. When I posted this, almost everyone thought that the fake episode was real. In fact, this will probably be drowned in red and comments that I’m delusional, but if you've genuinely kept up with clues, this is for you. I couldn’t tie up every single thing, not because I can’t, but because it would be too long.
Bruno Heller has set it up beautifully. To prove its possible make a complex story weave together, I’ve made my own flashbacks. (I've missed out loads of cool things!)
Bosco told Jane that person X is Red John, after the DNA on Carter Peak's body was analysed in secret (smart guy). Bosco made Jane promise he wouldn't kill Red John until he exposed the conspiracy in law-enforcement. He didn't want Lisbon to be hurt in a revenge killing. Person X is Brett Partridge, and Patrick hates him even more and is unpleasant to him whenever he meets him. On-screen, when Lisbon asks Patrick what Bosco told him, Patrick says "He made me promise to look after you." Patrick actually told the truth to Lisbon!
Red John met Ray Haffner on the Visualize farm. Roy Tagliaferro was Ray Haffner's birth name. After Roy changes his name to Raymond Haffner, Michael Kirkland, an expert hypnotist formerly from the carnival, is allowed to take up the identity of Roy Tagliaferro so that he can live an untraceable life. Bret Stiles has all 3 of them under his wing in Visualize.
P.S Patrick uses the High School Class Ring he sees in Red Barn to later trace that Tagliaferro is Haffner as a boy
To clarify: Roy Tagliaferro is NOT Red John in any shape or form.
- Ray Haffner killed Lorelei's sister
- Michael Kirkland is the man that Rosalynd Harker met
- Kirkland hypnotised Frye, Harker, the little girl and killed Jason Lennon, “Your mind is clear”
Bob Kirkland is hunting the man who brainwashed his brother. This was Bret Stiles, who knows Red John. Kirkland knows Partridge (trained pigeons imitating birdsong = good whistler) from the carnival. In episode 6, Stiles' death is faked by Jane and Kirkland. Bob's got his opportunity for revenge on Stiles. Haffner's death is faked. Potentially, Lorelei can get her revenge on him.
Bertram was briefed about his role in Jane’s plan, on the phone to Bob Kirkland, at the start of episode 6. Smith, McAllister and Bertram are all informants for the Homeland Investigation. Reede shot Michael Kirkland. They each have different roles in the episode after the explosion. (There’s a lot of deception to make them look like bad guys- You can thank Kirkland and Jane for these tricks. For the first time ever Jane has the resources, thanks to Kirkland, to pull an elaborate trick on Red John.)
P.S Lisbon being bugged by Red John, is the reason for the secrecy and lies from Jane. Jane is misinforming Red John. He does this in several episodes.
P.S*. Maybe Xander Berkeley was Red John in the fake episode because he virtually had absolutely no role in the Great Red Dragon or the real Red John episode. Even Smith outdoes him.
Bertram leaves a flash drive of names in the Blake Association for CBI. Bob Kirkland then calls the FBI from Texas to deal with arrests of Blake Association members, so nothing is lost.
Since Patrick has exposed the Blake Association and has custody of Red John's attachments to Visualize, Patrick has fulfilled his promise to Bosco. Then Patrick kills Brett Partridge, after 4 years of being ahead of Red John. I expect loads of flashbacks while Partridge is cut open and dying slowly. (Eeek! The awkward moment when you see Sherriff McAllister in a flashback, and then you have terrifying flashbacks of your own!) Everyone from the team is relocated for safety purposes. Jane flees to Mexico after faking people’s deaths. Comeon, he’s got away with killing a Red John imposter before, so the charges have to be for something else! The promo for episode 9: My Blue Heaven, is totally real. But I can only hope we’ll see the real Red John episode before this.
