Someone other said all of it was inside his head I'd like to say no all the solving was true but red john was patrick's split personality and he lived with and around patrick's wife and child as patrick so patrick was sometimes good and unserious and sometimes really angry and livid so he killed patrick's wife and child knowing the other personality(patrick) would hate that which is why the red smiley always looked like jane's face coz the red john personality always wanted to tease and make fun of patrick and his sleezy fraud personality which is why he knew for sure he was just a money grubber coz patrick himself knew he was and also its mysterious and im unable to put it in few words but the fact that his reaction after seeing the red smiley in his home and the aftermath was never shown has something to do with him having the red john personality in himself......and now just a small bs play of words....an unknown male victim is called john doe and an unknown female victim is called jane doe......john always thought of jane the showbiz person as his female trait/personality.....anyway who gave him the name red john anyway maybe i missed something aight on my way to watch it for the third time!
