okay so.. i dont know who is red john, but i have a remark.
I think Kristina Frye is involved somehow, and she wasnt kidnapped. If red john wanted to hurt Pj, he would kill her as his wife and daughter. 
think, Rj always leave alive only his accomplices, except Pj.
