as english is not my native language, I hope you'll be able to understand my theory.

There is one guy we discover and that almost everybody has forgotten : Patrick's father.

To my mind, he is Red John.

He is the one who teach everything about mentalism to Patrick. And he is the one who knows Patrick more than everyone else.

We can see him in an episode where he is trying to sell a magic stone to an old women who wants to heal her daughter from a cancer. Patrick's father seems to be selfish and greedy.

He is not in the official suspect list, that make a perfect suspect because nobody is expecting this end and that would be a very good surprise.
