As people before have stated, Bruno Heller has said that the scene where Lisbon was abducted, was extremely important. In all three episodes, there were pigeons present or shown on camera. I think this is the fear that Red John has instead of heights. It's the fear of pigeons. In the last episode, McAllister freaked out when a bird came near him in the attic of the church. There were pigeons when Lisbon opened the door where she was taken. I think he did the killing of Brett along with impersonating a patient for Jane's therapist. Although, I don't think that Red John is a single person. The scene in episode two, where the three men were chatting in Bertram's office was interesting. That's why I think it consists of multiple people, but McAllister was present on the scene of the abduction of Lisbon.
