I think Gale Bertram is Red John and here's why:

Season 3, Jane had 5 suspects who can be RJ's CBI mole. They were Brenda Shettrick, Osvaldo Ardiles, Gale Bertram, Craig O'Laughlin and J.J. LaRoche. So, O'Laughlin was the CBI mole. He was a bad guy. LaRoche has got the Tupperware box. He is bad guy. Shettrick was Tommy Volkers CBI mole. She also was bad guy.

Names left are Ardiles and Bertram. 
I think that in season 6 Ardiles kills someone. So he is bad guy too.
The only one left is Bertram (RJ) ,who is in PJ's RJ suspects list.
So Bertram has to be Red John.

Bertram knows everything about Jane, he's team and the CBI. No one suspects the CBI director. 
And Gale Bertram was in the shopping mall with Patrick Jane and Timothy Carter.
