Hey guys, first poster here, I've just successfully watched all full 6 seasons of The Mentalists over the last 2 months, and I must say, there is no better plot line when it comes to a TV show. Now, concerning Red John, Bruno Heller missed out on jackpot by not going with Virgil Minelli as Red John, I mean, it would of been perfect. Here are my two reasons, you might not think they are key, but I really thought the were.1. I believe in the ending of season 1, Patrick located an old house that Red John used (I might be wrong, if so, I apologise) One camera shit located a guy next door to where Patrick was (I presume this was Red John) know in that camera shot, it clearly showed a guy sitting, with a cup of tea/coffee on the table... now correct me if I'm wrong, but Virgil nearly always had a cup of tea/coffee on him. Also, in that scene, the guy who we don't see is wearing a suit, Virgil also always wears a suit, something that Sheriff John never wore.2. The last time we ever saw Virgil before Red John was revealed was in an episode when Patrick needed his help regarding Red John. Now, lets think about this, over the last 6 episodes did Patrick ever asked anyone for help regarding Red John apart from that moment? He never asked the gang (Lisbon, Rigsby, Van Pelt, Cho) even! Yes, he did ask the occasional help from LaRoche, but that was only to see, and investigate, if LaRoche was Red John himself, which turned out not to be the case. Lastly, anyone remember the last ever scene we saw of Virgil Minelli before Red John was revealed? He offered Virgil the chance to have a drink with a woman!? Look at his reaction, Virgil was overjoyed with excitement.... did he kill the woman or not, I guess we will never know...

I found the season premiere really boring compared to past ones. Maybe it is just because i can't look at the Mentalist the same anymore after what happened with the Red John storyline.
I used to get so excited and felt the Mentalist was different from other shows, i even told all my friends and everyone to watch it.
Now the show just feels fake , for me it felt like the whole show died with Red John.

I do hope we see that smiley face again , something feels rather off. I so didn't realise Marcus Pike was from Game of Thrones till i seen him with the beard in the last episode haha. Anyone else experience that moment?

I won't dish fans who say the show is great , or i won't dish fans who believe the Red John Storyline will continue. I just don't really know how i feel about the show. If the Red John story-line is truly over, it will feel like the whole show has been a big disappointment. I don't hate the new show it just feels really mundane and boring and it is missing the spark it used to have.

Also i would like to say that Stoopkid has had some amazing theories and i don't know why people abuse him. He loves the show and its his opinion that Red John will come back. In a way i think most Red John fans hold a little hope and haven't fully given up yet. Lets just hope the Mentalist doesn't let all the fans down for this new boring show.

I figured we can get some more cool theories goin on this site. I'll start with something most don't seem to think about. When it came to using the voice as a clue to who Red John was, it should have been obvious that it was a terrible thing to focus on. Which was why McAllister used the voice at the church scene. It was Heller's way of giving everyone who used the voice as a clue the big middle finger. So many of us focused so much on that and were SO sure that Partridge was the culprit. Anyways, what I wanted to say about the whole "voice as a clue thing", is that there was, in fact, a second voice that most of us forgot about. Remember when they went to Mexico to try and save Renfrew before RJ got there but they failed? And we all focused on the "He is Mar" messege attempt. At the very end of that episode, that prostitute's cell phone ringed and Jane answered it listing to someone breathing and then laughing. Listen closely to that voice. Does it sound anything like the high-pitched voice? Or even McAllister's regular voice? To be perfectly honest, it sounded a lot like Minelli. I always found it odd that he suddenly had to go visit his "sick sister in Hawaii". I'm pretty sure he was setting up his trap for Renfrew. Also , on another note, I re-watched the 100th episode and when Jane was asking Minelli about the leads on the RJ case, Minelli began to look suspicious and when Jane asked if there were any suspects he immediately looked away as if something came to mind or some guilt was taking place. I also notice when Minelli looked away, Jane looked at him as if he was observing him.
Just a little something to get this site rolling again. Let me know what you guys think. If you guys are still around.

hey folks..i mean yes it is all confiusing..i have like 10 pct hope that RJ is coming back simply coz its hard to get your hopes high and then let them not be fulfilled..u remember how we thought the leaked episode was a fake..god..us fans..but one thing I give it to us people is that a little bit of the anger and frustation has been sidelined simply coz we shared it for so long..its been like 6 months with the RJ reveal and not a day passes without theories and discussions on this thread..
guys like SK have dedicated their lives to jkeeping up the tempo and I admire that although I am skeptical abt how he would react to the RJ reveal being true..lol..so we had our time and in case BH did mock us for whatever reason its nt gonna hurt that bad coz we diluted it

hey folks..nice to write back..now, yea I was a tad disappointed on the RJ reveal..OK more than a tad ..:) ..but hey, thats life..we would never know why Heller did what he did and would have to trust his judgement as any other theory makes him suck and I cant believe the creator who gave us 4 marvelous seasons could play with our TV-sentiments..lol..but life looks forward
so after thinking more theories about how RJ could still be alive, I decided not to. coz it did not feel healthy..it bordered on obsessiveness..i am not saying it is surely a bad thing as it anyway is a very enjoyable exercise but sill, we need to stop at some point right..
I also dont think any ideas like the "dream" and stuff are gonna be very appealing..come-on, the appeal of the show lies in the fact that RJ PJ  and all lived real lives..it is a tough job ahead for heller to chart out PJ's life-story sans RJ and that is a thing to watch..and if RJ does make a comeback somehow, well I will think abt it then.
