I think it is Robert Kirkland, and for anyone who has seen the last few episodes, it seems quite plausible. I mean, the whole scene where he kills the guy in the hospital saying "I'm a friend"..... and when he met Patrick Jane, he looked at him and said "Hello Patrick", and Jane looked at him and said "Have we met?". Kirkland's face then changes quite drastically and introduces himself. Something about him, I don't know, it just isn't right.
Well, that's my guess anyways!
If Im not mistaken the circumstances around loreleis father are still unexplained aren't they?
Could Kirkland be loreleis father? Not sure of his age of anything
Brett Partridge is definitely Red John, when you see this picture, you will agree with me....
in season2episode8, jane thinks of the murder of janet peak, and in this scene you can definitely see Brett Partridge's face - as Red John!

red john is composed by Sev important person I do not see other than brett stils.I watch the series from the beginning it like there's too ERRORS in season 3 last episode mr jane killed coment that he knew he was the commercial center yet away from bertram is suspect and it is the one with Rigsby and Cho and who knew in season 1 episode 11 we see that jhon red is somebody who's powerful brett patridge do not it's not the medium and in the same episode we suspect peus away Sev jane heard of red jhon see if it has already met its coment that do not reconais he now? for me the only person who peus be red jhon is bret stils
Just a feeling. In the episode when Bosco and his team are killed by Red John, Minelli suddenly resigns? In first season, he goes on holidays while he suspends everyone for looking into a "friend of a friend of Red Johns", and someone logged in the DOJ system turns out to be Red John says "your doing a great job". Every episode in later seasons that the bring Minelli back into the picture they are also closer to Red John.
It's almost like he wants Jane to find him.
The whole thing about Jane shaking his hand is a distraction. We're watching for a specific example on camera. The hint doesn't mean that we have to see him shake hands. He probably shook Minelli's hand when they first met.
Just my theory so far...or is it just "Horsesassary?"
Considering the developments of season 5, I am thinking that Red John is either:
1) Ray Haffner (his connection to visualize)
2) Robert Kirkland (his conversation with Jason Lennon before killing him, conversation in the limo when Jame got hired by CBI)
Both of them fit the criteria:
1) Shook hands with Patrick Jane
2) Have easy access to people of influence
3) Approximate age
Looking forward to seeing how this develops.
