When did Tiger, Tiger start? It had to start somewhere. I bet it was at the red barn and McAllister was the cop who helped Red John (the killer of the unidentified third person in the barn) get away with it.

Ok, here's the deal. On this site, today alone, Sheriff McCalister has surged ahead to the 4th spot in theory popularity. Makes sense. He fits the bill in many ways.
But I can honestly say that most of the theories on here , my previous one included, are way too detailed and the theorists have obviously read too much into every clue, non- clue, and random piece of dialogue. Many of you should be mystery writers yourselves. I've found the theories to be as entertaining and plausible as the show itself, sometimes more so.
But I can say that I looked away from the show to find the biggest clue yet on the identity of Red John. Rather than focus on characters, I focused on actors. Since Sheriff McCalister had been the favorite candidate lately, I decided to look up Xander Berkeley and found his Wikipedia page. Sure enough, as one of many roles in his long, impressive career, he had an entry that looked just like this:
The Mentalist (2008-2013, 3 episodes) Sheriff MCalister / Red John.
I then proceeded to look at the Wikipedia page of the other actors, all suspects on the list of 7. None of the others had "Red John" mentioned next to their primary character name for their Mentalist mention. I also noted that about this time, the Whoisredjohn.com web site was down, for a while. I got home from work a few hours after my initial discovery and noted that Xander Berkeley's Wikipedia page still credited him as " Sheriff McCalister / Red John." But then I checked it 2 hours later and the Red John reference was GONE!
I wouldn't be surprised if the reason this web site was down today is that it was hacked/attacked by CBS to put the brakes somewhat on the Sheriff as Red John speculation while at the same time they had people twisting arms to "fix" the Xander Berkeley Wikipedia page, since it have it away.
Not a theory, but still interesting. There's this Mentalist fanatic on Youtube; his name is Americ and he's part of a channel called HappyCool. He makes wonderful weekly reviews of The Mentalist, and he occasionally gets the privilege to see episodes prior to airtime.
This is Americ's reaction to the Red John (Season 6 Episode 8) episode. There are no spoilers, only Americ's reactions coupled with some soothing music.
Definitely worth the watch, and if you can let me know what Americ reacts to at 1:38, I would love to know. Is it an RJ reveal, or is it a Jane-Lisbon moment?

Enjoy and continue theorizing. I love them.
What I'm wondering about is the gunshot at PJ's house. If you look at the layout of the house, where bertram and smith were sitting they had the main door to their left, which means looking at the front of the builiding from Lisbons perspective, they were behind the window left of the door.
That means that PJ shot someone on the couch as we can clearly see at the beginning of "the Great Red Dragon" the light beam from the gunshot could be seen in the left window from Lisbons perspective, the 3 Blake Association members were on the right side of the house.
Am I wrong ? What could that mean ?
still not 100% sure its mcallister but jane and the three tyger tyger guys were on the same side of the room when it exploded just wondering how he died yet every one else on that side of the room survived
Just something I recognized a few minutes ago..
1. ) When you watch the (extended) Promo for S06x06 (The Red John Episode) - many have mentioned that the guy jumping through the glass looks a lot like McAllister. Could be.
2.) Just re-watched the scene ( S06x03) where Patrick calls McAllister while being in the forest.
-McAllister sounds ALOT like Red John on the phone ( listen to his voice saying "Sheriff McAllister... What can I do for you Patrick?") and compare that for example to the last phone call of Red John in the first Episode of Season 6 (at the End).
AND:
When it comes to the Promotion of the Red John Episode - the voice (which is Red John i presume) says "The game is over and I won!" - and McAllister (in the conversation mentioned above) says something like "Game is game, isn't it?" when they talk about hunting.
Another clue? I don't know. Just thought it could be interesting for you guys as well :)
Anyone think they wouldn't show McAllister (assuming it is him) in the promo? Doesn't that kind of ruin the big reveal?
